National Hepatitis C Elimination Initiative

In 2024, the White House proposed a comprehensive plan to eliminate hepatitis C (HCV) in the United States within five years. The initiative includes a $12.3 billion investment over a decade to expand screening, increase access to antiviral drugs, and lower the cost of treatment. The program aims to support federal procurement of life-saving treatments while bolstering provider capacity and related public health efforts such as testing, communication, and surveillance.
